Property claims:
a. Submit Your Claim
After an accident or loss, report your claim immediately
to Alfa. If you are out of town and do not have
your agent's information, contact any local Alfa
office to assist you. It is imperative Alfa receives
your claim information within a timely manner after
the accident or loss. Be prepared to provide the
following information:
- Your policy number
- The date, time, location and nature of your
loss
- A description of the damage to your property
- Names, contact information and insurance information
of those involved in the loss, including witnesses
- Your contact information: work, home, cell phone
numbers and e-mail address
b. Adjuster Assignment
When we receive your claim, an Alfa adjuster will
be assigned to you. They will investigate the damage,
coverage and cause of your loss. Your adjuster will
contact you promptly for additional information,
inspect your property and explain the claims process.
c. Property Loss Inspection
- An adjuster will inspect the damage to your
property.
- The adjuster may ask you to provide estimates
from a vendor of your choice.
- Until repairs can be started or completed, protect your property from further damage and keep receipts of any materials bought to do so.
- If your property is deemed uninhabitable due
to a covered loss, you may be entitled to additional
living or housing expense. The adjuster will verify
your policy coverages. If this coverage is applicable
to your loss, please keep copies of all your expenditures
such as hotel and restaurant receipts
- Provide the names and contact information of
the injured parties and witnesses to your adjuster.
- Prepare an inventory of all damaged property
and personal items and have this ready for your
adjuster.
