Jackson, Miss. (Dec. 16, 2008) – Alfa Insurance® today announced an overall 2.1 percent reduction in auto insurance rates for Mississippi policyholders. The new rates will become effective Dec. 28, 2008. Once these rates are implemented, Mississippi customers will save an estimated $1 million annually.
“Although auto insurance rates are rising nationally, Alfa’s rates in Mississippi will actually be about as low as they were 10 years ago,” said Bob Pace, Alfa Vice President of Marketing for Mississippi. “Advanced technology is helping us drive these rates even lower. This should be welcome news for Mississippi drivers in the midst of economic uncertainty.”
Alfa also announced it is increasing its length-of-service discounts in Mississippi. Auto policyholders who have been Alfa customers for as few as three years will be eligible for a 15 percent discount. For six years or more as an Alfa auto customer, the discount will be 20 percent.
The actual premium adjustment for each policy will vary. Customers are advised to contact their Alfa agent for information about their specific policies. Consumers who are not currently Alfa customers can find information about their nearest agent at www.alfains.com
