• Sr Accountant
  QUALIFICATIONS: BS in Business Administration with focus in Accounting or equivalent in accounting. CPA designation preferred. Three years of progressively responsible experience in the insurance accounting field, or equivalent experience in a business or public accounting environment. Leadership skills, good verbal and written communication skills, and good analytical and organizational skills. Understanding of database and accounting computer application systems. Ability to identify issues and recommend sound business solutions. Ability to work independently with minimum supervision and make sound accounting decisions. Ability to work overtime as needed RESPONSIBILITIES: 1. Preparing and analyzing financial statements and complex financial schedules for P&C companies, in compliance with promulgated accounting standards. 2. Recommending, implementing and maintaining control processes for business segments. 3. Monitoring control processes to ensure that internal control procedures are followed for safeguarding of company assets and ensuring the integrity of financial reporting. 4. Directing, guiding and training exempt and non-exempt staff involved in accounting functions. 5. Reconciling complex general ledger accounts for various Alfa companies, identifying and assessing the appropriate accounting treatment for complex transactions.
• Computer Operator
  QUALIFICATIONS: Prior experience required. A technical degree are desired, but not required. Must be reliable, dependable, have a positive attitude, and good communication skills. DUTIES: Monitors and manipulates console controls in a Mainframe/ AS400 environment. Operates peripheral equipment. Maintains routine records and may maintain tape systems. Have an understanding of operating systems, IBM and 3rd Party software, and company applications as related to Computer Operations. HOURS: Monday thru Friday Starting hours will be 4:00 p.m. to 12:00 a.m. Will be required to work weekends and holidays as workload dictates.
